Retreats for women over 50

Health Benefits, What to Expect & Why They Matter

Why are women's retreats so beneficial after 50?

Life after 50 often brings new opportunities, but it can also bring new challenges. Many women have spent decades caring for children, supporting partners, building careers, or looking after ageing parents, often placing their own wellbeing last. A women’s retreat offers the opportunity to step away from everyday responsibilities and focus on yourself without guilt.

Research consistently shows that wellness retreats offer more than just a relaxing holiday.

Studies have found that spending time in nature, building meaningful social connections, practising gentle movement such as yoga, and stepping away from everyday stress can improve emotional wellbeing, reduce anxiety, enhance sleep quality, and increase overall quality of life—benefits that are particularly important for women navigating midlife and menopause.

Eating nourishing food, and forming meaningful social connections can also have a positive impact on both physical and mental wellbeing. A restorative retreat brings these elements together in one supportive environment.

With over 40 years of experience as a qualified neurolingistic practitioner i have used my skills in the fields of wellness and performance coaching to help women over 50, I understand how life can affect us both physically and emotionally. I understand the demands placed on women, especially during midlife, and how important it is to create time to rest, recharge, and reconnect with yourself.

Creating the Women’s Wellness Retreat I Could Not Find

It was one of those times I began looking for a wellness retreat for myself, I struggled to find something that truly felt right. I wanted a small, intimate women’s retreat with women my own age — women who shared similar experiences, who looked like me,  understood the journey we were on, and where I could feel comfortable, accepted, and that I truly belonged.

I wasn’t looking for perfection. I wasn’t searching for a wellness retreat built around unrealistic expectations or an image of wellbeing that didn’t feel authentic. I wanted genuine connection, to be out in nature, friendship, understanding, and the chance to slow down with women who were experiencing the same stage of life.

I discovered there was a lack of women’s retreats for over 50s that focused on real connection, relaxation, and restoration — and that is why Breathe Tuscany was created.

I created a retreat with women like us in mind

My women over 50 retreat, is a small group retreat designed for women who want more than just a holiday. It is for women looking for meaningful connections, gentle wellness experiences, beautiful surroundings, and the opportunity to slow down and enjoy life again.
